Blue Horizon
"Navigating New Frontiers"
On August 11th, 2024, the "Blue Horizon" project at Colombo Harbour explored maritime issues and global warming’s impact. Conducted by Sri Lanka Navy officers, the event highlighted the sea’s vital role in tourism and the economy. Experts discussed rising sea levels and climate change threats to coastal regions, emphasizing Sri Lanka’s maritime significance. Engaging presentations and discussions showcased the ocean’s contribution to tourism and economic growth. The project stressed the need for marine conservation, urging collective action to protect our seas. "Blue Horizon" educated participants while celebrating the ocean’s role in sustaining the island’s prosperity.

"Youth is Crazy, Dance Your Heart Out!"
On August 22, 2024, the Rotaract Club of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) hosted "Yeh Jawani," a lively Bollywood-themed social event. The venue dazzled with vibrant décor, setting the stage for an electrifying night of music, dance, and cultural celebration. A DJ spun Bollywood hits, while food stalls and dazzling performances kept the energy high. The Board of Directors delivered a captivating dance, and the Desi King and Queen pageant, judged by Randhir Withana, Ashen Siriwardana, and Damithri Subasingha, stole the show. With a Best Costume contest and an enthusiastic crowd, the event fostered unity and unforgettable memories.

Project "Genseiz" was an engaging initiative aimed at cultivating leadership and teamwork. The day kicked off with an intensive leadership session, where participants explored essential leadership traits through discussions and hands-on activities. "Honoring Our Heroes : A tribute to Courage and Sacrifice "
The Rotaract Club of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University successfully completed the first phase of Project Kruthaguna, a heartfelt initiative honoring war veterans from Mihindu Seth Madura. The day featured a serene visit to Bellanwila Temple, a special lunch, and an entertainment session. Veterans took part in spiritual rituals, enjoyed traditional meals, and shared their experiences in a warm, engaging setting. The event concluded with heartfelt interactions and gifts of light bulbs and mugs, symbolizing appreciation for their service. This meaningful project fostered gratitude and community spirit, making it a truly enriching experience for all involved.
